Community Guidelines
We launched the Money Match program because we want to create a judgment-free community to have conversations about money goals. We believe that talking about money should be empowering and that peers can be a powerful resource in achieving our financial goals.
These community guidelines are meant to foster genuine connections with your Money Match while maintaining a respectful and trusting space to have open conversations about money. We aim to create a safe and harassment-free experience for everyone.
Community Expectations
We expect each Money Match pair to…
Respect and be kind to each other.
Know that talking openly about their financial goals may be a new experience for your match.
Respect and keep private your Money Match’s personal and financial story.
Keep sensitive information private. Never share passwords, social security numbers, or account numbers.
Focus on discussing your financial goals and the actions you’ll take to achieve them.
Make space for quiet or introverted personalities to share.
Try your best to empathize with community members’ lived experiences.
Respect different points of view and perspectives - remember we are a judgment-free community.
Ask permission before connecting with your buddy/match outside of My Money Story.
Anti-Harassment
We will not accept any type of harassment. Examples of harassment include but are not limited to…
Hurtful or derogatory comments related to race, ethnicity, place of origin, immigration status, public benefits status, gender identity or expression, age, sexual orientation, disability status, mental health status, religion, political opinion, family status, life choices, and other unique identity characteristics.
Intentionally using incorrect pronouns, misgendering, or using deadnames.
Stalking or unwelcome sexual advances both online and offline.
Violence, threatening violence, or intentional intimidation.
Continued communication after a request to stop.
Publishing or sharing private conversations.
These guidelines apply to our community, but if you feel you are being harassed by a community member outside of our spaces, we still want to know about it. We take every report of harassment by our members seriously.
Reporting
If you believe your match or a potential match violated these community guidelines, please fill out this 2-minute form and we will follow up as promptly as possible. While you wait to hear from us, please put your personal safety first, and end contact with your match.
